In 2008, Zug Cantonal Hospital moved into a new building in Baar ZG. It has now been decided how the former hospital site will be developed. The real estate company HRS and investor Credit Suisse Investment Foundation are responsible for this.
At the heart of the winning project is a spacious square facing Lake Zug, HRS announced on Friday. The listed south wing of the former hospital will be converted into a hotel. Together with other facilities such as bistros, retail space and a flexible event hall, a lively and open meeting place is to be created for the district.
Apartments are also to be realized. According to the press release, apartments at market conditions are planned, as well as affordable apartments and housing for the elderly. This is also provided for in the development plan.
