The SP municipal councillor Silvia Stucki in Allschwil BL has been given back the "Children and Families" portfolio. This was taken away from her last year following a dispute within the municipal executive. Following this year's general elections, the municipality announced the new allocation of portfolios on Wednesday.

In the elections on March 3, red-green won the majority on the municipal council. On June 9, however, Franz Vogt (center) won the race for the presidency. Municipal councillor Christoph Morat (SP), who was defeated in this duel, is now the Vice-President.

In the previous composition, the conservative majority had removed the "Children and Family" portfolio from Stucki in November 2023. At the time, the municipal council stated in a press release that Stucki had violated the principle of collegiality. The majority of the municipal council had spoken out in favor of three school locations in Allschwil - Stucki, however, in favor of four.

With the new allocation of responsibilities, Stucki will now also take over the "Digital Administration" department in the largest municipality in the canton of Baselland in addition to her old department. The newly elected Biljana Grasarevic (Greens) will be responsible for public health and sport as well as the environment. However, she has relinquished her seat in the Basel cantonal parliament. Flavia Müller will take Grasarevic's place at Thursday's meeting of the cantonal parliament.
