Apart from locations in Stans NW and Engelberg OW, Sparkasse Schwyz only has branches in the inner part of the canton of Schwyz, namely in Schwyz, Brunnen, Goldau and Küssnacht. With the new branch in the district of March in the outer part of the canton, it wants to strengthen its importance as a regional bank in the canton of Schwyz, it announced on Friday.
The region around Altendorf has grown strongly in recent years, the bank announced. It wants to exploit this potential. The time is ideal because other banks have withdrawn from the region and given up their locations.
The new branch is set to open at the end of 2024 in a building that already housed a bank.
