Avalanche/landslide Storms cause 38 million francs in damage in Misox
The violent thunderstorms in the southern Graubünden valley of Misox last Friday caused damage amounting to 38 million francs. This was announced by the municipality of Lostallo GR on Thursday. It launched an appeal for donations to cover the costs.

It was a tragedy, wrote the municipal representatives. Their condolences go out to the family who lost their loved one and to the families of the two people who are still missing.
Five buildings, including three houses, were completely destroyed in the storm. Up to 130 other cases of damage to buildings had been reported and were currently being processed by the Graubünden buildings insurance company. A drinking water pipe was also destroyed over a length of 600 to 800 meters. A total of 100 hectares of land were affected by the flooding.
Even if various damages were compensated by insurance companies or covered by cantonal and federal contributions, high residual costs remained for the municipality, the report continued. A donation account has therefore been set up.
