Swiss has found a successor for its CEO Dieter Vranckx, who will step down on July 1. Jens Fehlinger will take over on October 1. Until then, board member Heike Birlenbach will manage the business on an interim basis, as the airline announced on Friday.
Fehlinger began his professional career in 2006 at the Lufthansa Group, where he held various management positions. For example, he was in charge of strategy and business development at Lufthansa Airlines and operational performance management at the Lufthansa Group.
In recent years, the German has been Co-Managing Director of the airline Lufthansa CityLine and simultaneously established the new airline Lufthansa City Airlines as Managing Director. Jens Fehlinger holds a commercial pilot's license and currently flies Airbus A320 family aircraft for Lufthansa CityLine.
