On Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m., several people got into an argument at Schaffhausen railroad station. A 19-year-old man threatened one of the people present with a knife, whereupon he fled. This was reported by the Schaffhausen police in a statement.
A chase ensued, which, according to initial investigations, led through a waiting bus. On leaving the bus, the 19-year-old was disarmed by passers-by and led to the ground before he was arrested by an alert police patrol.
One of the passers-by was slightly injured in the incident and a female passer-by had to be taken to hospital by an ambulance crew for a check-up. According to initial findings, the attacker was under the influence of alcohol, narcotics and medication.
The knife attacker will have to answer to the public prosecutor's office of the canton of Schaffhausen.
