A seven-year-old girl in Menzingen ZG suffered life-threatening injuries in a quad bike accident: she was flown to hospital by air ambulance.

According to the Zug cantonal police, an accident occurred on Thursday evening, July 11 at around 7 p.m. in the "Gubel" area in the municipality of Menzingen. An emergency call was made to report the injury of a child.

"Several police patrols as well as an ambulance and an emergency doctor from the Zug rescue service were deployed immediately," writes the cantonal police. "On the scene, the emergency services found a 7-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries."

Girl was not wearing a helmet

The child received emergency treatment and was then flown by Rega to a hospital outside the canton. How did the accident happen? "According to the information available so far, the girl was riding the small motorcycle with her father," said the police. She was not wearing a helmet.

And further: "When the father got off the quad bike, the girl drove up Gubelstrasse on her own and then back down again a little later. She lost control of the quad bike, crashed into the crash barrier on the right-hand side and was thrown onto the road." The police are investigating the matter.
