Regula Berger will take over as Head of Group Management at Basler Kantonalbank (BKB) on March 1, 2025. The former Head of Commercial Client Sales will succeed CEO Basil Heeb, who is handing over the reins at his own request, as BKB announced on Tuesday.

The 42-year-old Regula Berger has been a member of the BKB Group Executive Board since 2019 and has headed the "Commercial Client Sales" division since 2021, according to the press release. She was appointed Deputy CEO last year. Since joining the Group six years ago, she has demonstrated strong leadership skills, according to Adrian Bult, Chairman of the Bank Council.

The 60-year-old Basil Heeb is stepping down from operational management at his own request, the statement continued. In his six years as CEO, he has succeeded in growing the two Group banks BKB and Bank Cler profitably. Heeb will remain with the Group until the end of March 2025 to ensure an orderly handover. After that, he wants to contribute his many years of management and professional experience in mandates outside the BKB Group.

BKB intends to nominate Regula Berger's successor as Head of Commercial Client Sales and Deputy CEO at a later date.
