SBL Wohnbaugenossenschaft Luzern has submitted a planning application to the city of Lucerne for 103 affordable apartments in the Hochhüsliweid area. The investment for the construction project amounts to CHF 60 million.

More than half of the apartments are intended for families, as SBL announced on Tuesday. In addition, a municipal kindergarten, two cluster apartments, joker rooms, three commercial spaces and a bicycle repair shop are to be built.

The development area is located on the border with Adligenswil, according to the statement. It adjoins an existing SBL development with 48 apartments. The land was given to SBL by the city of Lucerne on a building lease. If everything goes as planned, the development can be occupied in mid-2027.

Originally, 70 apartments were planned on the site. Optimization processes have increased the number to 103. The non-profit building cooperative currently has 450 apartments.
