An unknown perpetrator committed burglaries and a vehicle theft in Müstair GR on Saturday night. Thanks to effective cross-border cooperation with the South Tyrolean Carabinieri, it was possible to recover the vehicle and the extensive criminal property in Italy.

The perpetrators broke into two buildings in Müstair after midnight, as the Graubünden cantonal police reported on Thursday. They stole a safe and several e-bikes. The strangers stole a van for their escape and transportation.

After initial investigations, a patrol of the cantonal police alerted the Swiss border guard and the Carabinieri in neighboring South Tyrol. A Carabinieri patrol tracked down the van in the Vinschgau Valley. After a pursuit, the perpetrators abandoned the vehicle in an orchard and fled undetected.

The Italians handed over the stolen goods to the cantonal police of Graubünden. The police are continuing the investigation and the manhunt for the unknown perpetrators.
