Nicolas Rimoldi has lost his access to the lobby of the Federal Palace.
Erich Vontobel (EDU/ZH), who granted the badge, has now had it blocked.
The reason for this are Rimoldi's statements in the social media against Sanija Ameti, including the demand that the former GLP politician should be deported for her depiction of shots fired at a picture of the Virgin Mary.
Nicolas Rimoldi is an accomplished provocateur in the Swiss political arena. As chairman of the Mass-Voll movement, he fought the Federal Council's coronavirus measures with radical recriminations. Since the end of the pandemic, he has repeatedly made himself a talking point with other provocative positions.
In recent days, Rimoldi has made a series of posts on X in which he calls for Sanija Ameti to be severely punished after she claimed to have shot a picture of Maria in a post of her own.
EDU National Councillor Erich Vontobel has granted Rimoldi a Federal Palace badge and thus access to the lobby of the Federal Palace. This was in gratitude for the electoral support - a list connection between Mass-Voll and the EDU - which paved the way for the Zurich native to enter the federal parliament at the age of 65.
Now, however, Vontobel has had enough, as he told "20 Minuten". Although he is convinced that Rimoldi is not an anti-Semite, he says that the demand to deport Ameti in particular has gone too far. Such a statement was also not in line with the values of the EDU.
When handing over the Federal Parliament badge, he had admonished Rimoldi to use it responsibly. However, the activist had already tried his patience repeatedly in recent months.
Now Rimoldi will have to make do with the public gallery again if he wants to visit Parliament. Mass-Voll has responded with a statement in which the organization accuses Vontobel of breach of contract, while Rimoldi is committed to religious peace between Christians and Muslims.
Gottlos! https://t.co/s6Zshcs3Le
Erich Vontobel has stipulated that Nicolas Rimoldi may use the badge from May 2024 to August 2025. Urs Hans from the Aufrecht Schweiz movement will then enjoy privileged access to the Federal Palace. The EDU politician explains that he has not yet decided whether he will make the badge available to another person by then.
In addition, Rimoldi and the Mass-Voll movement have reportedly been charged with defamation and racial discrimination. According to Blick, the charges are not only directed against Rimoldi, but also against persons unknown, as there may be other people behind the defamatory and racially discriminatory X-Posts.
The complaint was filed by a lawyer from Lucerne. Blick" does not know any more details.
Rimoldi has already been condemned several times in connection with his statements and actions against the federal government's coronavirus measures. He himself has repeatedly accused other opinion leaders of making statements against him.
