A van driver caused a serious traffic accident in Riet near Neftenbach on Thursday morning. The 36-year-old driver overlooked an oncoming motorcycle when turning left. The 35-year-old motorcyclist was thrown off and suffered serious injuries.

The motorcyclist crashed into two parked cars. He had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to the Zurich cantonal police.
