In a process lasting several months, the newly composed Thurgau government defined four priorities for the legislative period from 2024 to 2028, the State Chancellery announced on Tuesday.
For example, the heads of the five departments want to "develop the living space in a forward-looking and safe manner" or strengthen the canton's attractiveness as a business location as well as an educational and cultural area. Furthermore, the framework conditions for sustainable development are to be improved and cohesion and external perception promoted.
A total of 68 measures were defined for these four priorities. For example, a "financeable climate action plan" is to be drawn up to promote sustainability and a gradual decarbonization of bus transport is to be ensured.
The achievement of the targets from the last legislative period was also reviewed: 96 measures, or 65.7 percent, have been implemented, according to the press release. 42 measures had only been partially implemented and eight measures had not been implemented at all. This is a positive result, according to government president Walter Schönholzer (FDP).
