Three cantonal police patrols were transported to Fusio, Peccia and San Carlo in the Maggia Valley to set up hotspots there. In particular, these hotspots should also enable communication with the cantonal emergency response team, as stated in the press release.

The police patrols made direct contact with the population cut off from the mobile phone network and informed them about the hotspots.

The upper part of the Maggia Valley was hit by a severe storm on Saturday night. In addition to traffic routes and water supplies, electricity and mobile communications were also partially disrupted.
