The cantonal road should primarily be used for regional and local traffic in Misox GR. "If international traffic also ends up using the cantonal road, then it is bound to collapse several times over," said the President of the Graubünden cantonal government.

This was the answer given by Jon Domenic Parolini, President of the Graubünden cantonal government, at a media conference on Sunday when asked whether the cantonal road could be used as an alternative route for transit traffic during the closure of the A13 national road. In consultation with the Federal Office of Transport, it would be necessary to see what was possible. However, the cantonal road should not be an alternative.

Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis, who was also present at the media conference, said that the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) would do what was necessary to solve the traffic problems on Monday. He had already exchanged views with Federal Councillor Albert Rösti on Sunday.

The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs will inform the neighboring countries in an appropriate manner about the directives of the Uvek, said Cassis. We will see what is possible.

The A13 and the cantonal road in Misox GR have been partially closed since Friday evening. It is currently not possible to drive from Roveredo GR to the San Bernardino Pass and vice versa. On Friday night, the River Moesa burst its banks due to a heavy thunderstorm. As a result, part of the A13 highway collapsed.
