A truck driver skidded off the road in Wangs SG on Thursday afternoon. His vehicle tipped to one side and slid several meters down an embankment. The 33-year-old driver was thrown through the windshield in the accident.
The man was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries, wrote the St. Gallen cantonal police in a statement on Friday. The fire department was called out due to leaking fluids from the vehicle and the cantonal office for the environment was informed.
Vorderbergstrasse is expected to remain closed until Friday evening for the recovery work.
