In a video, Julian Assange's wife has called on his supporters to help the Wikileaks founder after his release. "We intend to set up an emergency fund for Julian's health and recovery," Stella Assange says in the clip, which was published on YouTube on Tuesday night. "I ask you, if you can, to contribute and help us transition into this new phase of Julian's freedom."

According to Wikileaks, Assange has been released from prison and has left the UK. It had previously become known that the 52-year-old had reached an agreement with the US Department of Justice, which had previously demanded his extradition.

The video was reportedly recorded on June 19. It shows Stella Assange standing in front of London's Belmarsh prison, where Assange was held for more than five years. Wikileaks head Kristinn Hrafnsson says: "If you see this, it means he's out."

Over all the years of her husband's imprisonment, a movement has formed, said Stella Assange. She not only supports her husband, but also the values he stands for: "truth and justice".
