Crime Young man injured in Riehen BS after attempted robbery

A young man was injured in an attempted robbery in Riehen BS on Friday afternoon. As the public prosecutor's office of the canton of Basel-Stadt reported on Saturday, the man was sitting on a bench when he was asked by a stranger to hand over his belongings.

When the 25-year-old victim refused to do so, the stranger attacked him. The Basel-Stadt ambulance service took the young man to hospital. The attacker fled in an unknown direction. The police and public prosecutor's office have issued an appeal for witnesses. The attack took place on Burgstrasse.
