"So 'ZH 24' is representative of a football summer full of emotion. I'm looking forward to our national team's next match and hope that the European Championships will last as long as possible."

All Zurich residents who value a low license plate on their car will have a unique opportunity to bid from Thursday: "ZH 24" will be the lowest license plate in the canton of Zurich. The auction will end on Wednesday, July 3.

"ZH 50" auctioned off for 202,000 francs

Until now, "ZH 50" was the lowest car license plate in the canton of Zurich. It was auctioned off last August for 202,000 francs. Five-digit and lower license plates are only available in the canton of Zurich via the Road Traffic Office's weekly license plate auction. The most expensive to date was the "ZH 100" number plate (226,000 francs in 2022).

In each of the last two years, the Road Traffic Office has generated around CHF 5 million from the license plate auction. All proceeds flow into the canton's general treasury and thus benefit the entire population of Zurich.
