Mark Cavendish will receive the highest honor of the British kingdom on Wednesday.
Prince William, heir to the throne, knighted the 39-year-old Briton at Windsor Castle for his great services to cycling and his commitment to charity. The top sprinter from the Isle of Man now bears the title Knight Commander of the British Empire and can now call himself Sir Mark.
In July, Cavendish became the sole record holder with his 35th stage win at the Tour de France. He then hinted that he could end his career at the end of the season.
