Geneva golfer Albane Valenzuela is the first Swiss woman to receive a call-up for the Solheim Cup, the equivalent of the men's Ryder Cup.
Valenzuela, who has six top-20 finishes on the 2024 LPGA Tour, was one of four captain's picks by Suzann Pettersen, who leads Team Europe.
"This is a childhood dream come true for me," said the 26-year-old, who will be the first Swiss player to represent Switzerland in one of the two biggest team competitions in golf.
Team Europe will compete in Gainesville, Virginia, from September 13 to 15 as defending champions in the traditional duel with the USA.
