If Alessandra Keller continues like this, she will be a medal contender at the Olympic Games. No reason for the 28-year-old mountain biker from Nidwalden to be nervous.
Alessandra Keller, you have been one of the best in the short track for three years and proved it again with your 2nd place in Crans-Montana. Are you a short track specialist?
"I'm very consistent in short track, no matter what the topography of the races is. That makes me proud and is super cool."
Five weeks remain until the Olympic race in Paris. Are you on schedule?
"The schedule is right. The World Cups are good interim checks and they give me confidence."
Do you feel any tension?
"No. I have nothing to lose at all. It will be my first Games and I can gain experience. I've had a consistent season and I know what I can do, yes. But that's why I'm not putting myself under any pressure. I see my participation as a reward."
The cross-country race is scheduled for Sunday in Crans-Montana. There were safety concerns in the training sessions.
"The safety of the athletes was not guaranteed, so we had to make adjustments. Now the course is still physically demanding, but no longer so mega tough. The ground is wet, there could be a rain race. There are a thousand possible lines and no magic one. So it's very much down to individual ability, and that plays into my hands."
