Nora Meister wins the next medal for the Swiss team at the Paralympics in Paris. The 21-year-old swimmer takes silver in the 400 m crawl.
For a long time, Meister fought a neck-and-neck duel for second place with Maisie Summers-Newton from Great Britain, but the longer the race went on, the more the Aargau native's endurance qualities came into play. In the end, she clearly beat the Briton (5:21.36) in 5:16.53 minutes.
This is the second Paralympic medal for Meister, who had set herself the goal of winning a medal in this discipline. Three years ago in Tokyo, she won bronze in the same discipline.
Gold went to the favored Chinese athlete Jiang Yuyan. The 19-year-old won in 5:12.07 minutes.
