In 2015, Baumann celebrated his greatest success at the European Championships in Montpellier with second place on parallel bars. He also won three European bronze medals on horse and with the team (2016 European Championships in Bern) and on parallel bars (2021 European Championships in Basel).

He took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio and the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, winning a diploma with the team in Japan. Baumann also helped the team qualify for the Summer Games in Paris. There, he would have liked to bid farewell to gymnastics with one last performance, but he narrowly missed the cut.

After the Swiss Cup in Zurich, his last competition, Baumann wants to take a break and return to the sport later as a coach.
