World champions Argentina have a tough time against Chile. The team led by superstar Messi scored the winning goal in the second group match of the Copa América just before the end of the game.
Lautaro Martinez was the scorer in the 1:0 win against Chile in East Rutherford in the US state of New Jersey. The 26-year-old striker, who is a team-mate of Yann Sommer at Inter Milan, only scored in the 88th minute.
The defending champions Argentina are now through to the quarter-finals of the Copa América. The Albiceleste of coach Lionel Scaloni had previously beaten Canada 2:0. In the last game of the group stage, Argentina will face Peru next Saturday, while Chile will play Canada on the same day.
In the second game on Tuesday, Canada beat Peru 1-0 in Kansas City to record their first win in a Copa America game.
