The Bernese Young Boys are rid of their unloved third goalkeeper. Anthony Racioppi is moving to England to join Hull City, who are aiming for promotion to the Premier League.

Racioppi has signed a three-year contract with an option for a further year. Anthony Racioppi (25) has played for Young Boys for the last two and a half years. He played 53 games, became Swiss champion twice and won the Cup once. Last December, however, he had to relinquish his regular place in front of the YB goal to David von Ballmoos.

Racioppi is looking forward to Hull City - "a very good club with big ambitions", as he is quoted on his new club's website. Hull City kick off the new season next Saturday with a home game against Bristol City.
