Nottingham's first game of the season ends in a draw. But right at the start of the game against Bournemouth, an injury overshadows the match.
Nottingham Forest's Danilo suffered a serious injury to his left leg in the Premier League opener against Bournemouth. In a duel with Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo, the Brazilian landed awkwardly on the ground in the seventh minute. The referee and his team-mates immediately called for help when they saw Danilo's condition.
A screen was erected around the midfielder while medical staff attended to Danilo. After almost six minutes of treatment, the 23-year-old was carried off the pitch to applause from the crowd.
Suspected ankle fracture
According to Sky News, Nottingham coach Nuno Espirito Santo said: "It was a terrible moment for everyone". According to the report, Danilo broke his ankle. However, an exact diagnosis is still pending.
"It's not nice when a team-mate goes down like that on the pitch," team-mate Chris Wood told BBC Radio 5 Live. He assured his teammate of his full support for his recovery. "Whatever it is, he'll come back stronger and a better person."
The game ended 1:1 (1:0). Wood (23) scored for the home team, Antoine Semenyo (86) equalized for Bournemouth (86) shortly before the end.
