Well-deserved victory for Geneva Servette defeats Sion in the Rhone derby

Servette wins the Rhone derby against Sion. On Saturday evening, Geneva were a size too big for the Valais side.

The ultras from Valais boycotted the Rhone derby, while their Geneva colleagues showed their solidarity for a whole half. Neither of them missed much, and the FC Sion fans can even count themselves lucky not to have seen their favorites' pale performance live.

Enzo Crivelli gave Servette the lead as early as the 5th minute, which was already half the battle given the now worrying harmlessness of the Valais attacking department. Sion have scored just three meagre goals in their last six games.

Four minutes after the break, Dereck Kutesa, who had been annoyed in the media in recent days that Murat Yakin had not called him up for the national team, increased his tally. He now leads the scoring charts with six goals for the season. Gaël Ondouas was then merely a cosmetic finish.

Servette are now one point behind leaders Zurich, while Sion are still reaping the benefits of their brilliant start to the season, but have not won in the Super League since August 10.

Man of the Match

Miroslav Stevanovic: Two assists, an outstanding performance. He played a number of dangerous set-passes, made clever runs and latched onto balls. He also worked diligently at the back and was allowed to call it a day after 87 minutes.
