After a successful start to the season with four wins out of the first five games, HC Lugano is struggling with injury worries.
In addition to captain Calvin Thürkauf, who was injured in the game against SC Bern a week ago, goalie Niklas Schlegel will also miss Tuesday night's away game in Langnau. Goaltender Schlegel will be out for the next two or three weeks due to muscular problems. Schlegel has been in goal for 3 games so far; Joren van Pottelberghe has been in front of Lugano's net twice.
In the case of Thürkauf, the Swiss international decided not to have surgery on his injured left knee. Thürkauf and Lugano hope that he will be able to play again in January.
