Alessandra Keller wins the overall cross-country World Cup for the second time since 2022 Sina Frei celebrates her second consecutive World Cup victory in the short track in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada.
It was just a formality. Keller went into the season finale with a lead of 322 points over the American Savilia Blunk, with a maximum of 330 points still up for grabs. The 28-year-old from Nidwalden finished the short track race one place behind Blunk in eighth place, which was easily enough. Keller thus achieved the "double" as in 2022, as she had already secured victory in the short track discipline a week earlier in Lake Placid.
Sina Frei underlined her dazzling form at the end of the season in Canada. After her triumph in Lake Placid in the short race, she doubled up in Mont-Sainte-Anne. The 27-year-old from Zurich had never previously triumphed at World Cup level. Thanks to an attack shortly before the finish, Frei came in one second ahead of France's Loana Lecomte and two seconds ahead of Great Britain's Evie Richards. With Nicole Koller in ninth place, a third Swiss woman made it into the top ten.
