Lulu Sun (WTA 123), who grew up in Switzerland and now plays for New Zealand, continues her run of success at Wimbledon.
The 23-year-old won two tiebreaks against China's Zhu Lin (WTA 61) to reach the round of 16, a feat that no New Zealander had achieved before her at Wimbledon. Born on a New Zealand island, the daughter of a Chinese mother and a Croatian father has only been playing under a new flag since this spring - and she is more successful than ever before.
In London, she won her first match at a Grand Slam tournament after qualifying for the main draw. Sun is aiming for her seventh win in a row in the round of 16 against Greece's Maria Sakkari (WTA 9) or Emma Raducanu (WTA 135), the British US Open winner from 2021.
