Mathias Flückiger and Alessandra Keller, two Swiss Olympic hopefuls in mountain biking, celebrate commanding victories in Davos.
Mathias Flückiger continues to make his mark after his controversial Olympic selection. Last week he withdrew from the race in Davos. The altitude training in St. Moritz was more important to him. However, Flückiger's preparations went so well that he decided to take part at short notice. From the second lap (out of nine), Flückiger rode away from the competition to such an extent that he was even able to afford a crash on the final descent with a lead of more than two minutes. Apart from a few scratches, Flückiger survived the crash unharmed.
Also solo, but much less dominant and superior than Flückiger, Alessandra Keller won the women's race.
