Quentin Métral and Yves Haussener lose their second group match at the European Beach Volleyball Championships in the Netherlands against the local duo Alexander Brouwer/Robert Meeuwsen.
The Swiss were unable to build on their success of the previous day, when they secured an easy two-set victory against Poland's Bartosz Losiak/Michal Bryl. After winning the opening set, Métral/Haussener were only two points short of winning the match on several occasions. However, they lost the second set 22:24 and later the match.
The second Swiss duo of Marco Krattiger/Florain Breer did not have to play their second group match on Thursday morning, as the German duo of Lukas Pfretzschner/Sven Winter had to withdraw. Pfretzschner had seriously injured his ankle in the first group match the day before. He announced on Instagram that they were withdrawing from the tournament as a result.
In the final group match on Thursday evening, both Swiss duos will play for a place in the knockout phase.
