Francesco Bagnaia wins the main race at the Dutch Grand Prix after the sprint race. The MotoGP World Champion, who started from pole position, celebrates a start-finish victory in Assen.
Bagnaia took his 33rd GP victory, his 23rd in the premier class, 3.7 seconds ahead of Spaniard Jorge Martin. In third place, Bagnaia's Italian compatriot Enea Bastianini ensured a pure Ducati podium.
In the world championship standings, Bagnaia closed the gap to the leader, Martin's lead over the defending champion is now only ten points.
No points again for Dettwiler
In the Moto3 class, Noah Dettwiler finished 23rd, 48 seconds behind the victorious Spaniard Ivan Ortola. The 19-year-old from Basel missed out on a top 15 finish by more than 20 seconds, having had to complete a "long lap" penalty in the race as a result of qualifying. So far, Dettwiler has scored once in eight races this season. That was in Austin, Texas, in mid-April in 14th place.
