The Olympic basketball tournament in Paris will take place with Giannis Antetokounmpo and without Luka Doncic.
Antetokounmpo, two-time NBA MVP and 2021 champion with the Milwaukee Bucks, secured his Olympic ticket with Greece at the qualifying tournament in Piraeus by beating Croatia 80-69 in the final.
The day before, the Greeks, who qualified for the Summer Games for the first time since 2008, had prevailed 96:68 in the semi-final against Slovenia led by Luka Doncic. The 25-year-old Doncic, a five-time NBA All-Star and 2024 play-off finalist with the Dallas Mavericks, will therefore be one of the prominent absentees in Paris.
