The ZSC Lions and Rapperswil-Jona Lakers lead the National League after their third win in three games. Zug is also still unbeaten.
The ZSC Lions won the duel between the Swiss heavyweights at SC Bern in a penalty shootout after tying the game at 2-2 with seven minutes remaining in regulation time.
Rapperswil-Jona celebrated their second overtime win in their second away game (2:1 at Fribourg-Gottéron). EV Zug has only played twice. After a 6:2 victory against the SCL Tigers, which they never threatened, they remain without a point.
The hardest workers in this season opener come from Kloten. In the third game, they went to a penalty shoot-out for the third time - and lost for the first time. Ambri-Piotta proved to have stronger nerves this time after losing two overtime games.
Lausanne, on the other hand, were knocked off their throne after taking maximum points from the first two games. They suffered a 2:4 defeat at home to Lugano.
HC Davos recorded their first win after two defeats with a 3-2 overtime win against Genève-Servette. The same applies to Biel with a 4:1 win against Ajoie. After three rounds, the team from Jura is the only one without points.
