The Swiss show jumping team took seventh place at the third and final leg of the League of Nations in Rotterdam.
Without the two undisputed Olympic starters Steve Guerdat and Martin Fuchs, Pius Schwizer on Vancouver in particular made a strong bid for one of the two remaining places. The rider from Solothurn impressed with two clear rounds.
Things went less well for Janika Sprunger on Orelie. In the first round, she delivered the scratch result with 22 penalty points, but things went better in the second with one knockdown. Edouard Schmitz on Gamin made one fault in two rounds, Romain Duguet on Hunger Games was not able to compete in the second round after a knockdown in the first.
Following the weather-related cancellation in St. Gallen, this year's League of Nations only consists of three competitions plus the Top 8 final from October 3 to 6 in Barcelona. The Swiss are qualified for this.
