Rafael Nadal needed four hours to qualify for the semi-finals against Argentinian Mariano Navone (ATP 36) on Friday. Quite a few expected Nadal to withdraw from the tournament after this exhausting battle with a view to the Olympic tournament in Paris. But Nadal is confident again: Nadal once again won in three sets against the Croatian Duje Ajdukovic (ATP 130).
Ajdukovic led 3:0 after a good ten minutes with two breaks and later also had a break advantage in the second set (6:4, 1:0). However, Nadal went on a run and won 4:6, 6:3, 6:4 in 2:14 hours.
