One day after Alinghi Red Bull's first victory, patience is required at the America's Cup qualifying round. All of Wednesday's races have been canceled.

The reason for this is a storm that hit the coast of Barcelona and made it impossible to hold the races for safety reasons. The regattas have been postponed to Thursday, which was already scheduled as a reserve day.

The Swiss syndicate Alinghi Red Bull will then try to follow up Tuesday's triumph against the French with a second victory in the current Louis Vuitton Cup against the American team American Magic.

A thunderstorm had already caused a shortened afternoon of racing on Tuesday. During the duel between the teams from Italy and New Zealand, lightning struck the race area.
