Cathia Schär is in good shape two and a half weeks before the Olympic triathlon.
The 22-year-old from Vaud came 8th in the sprint distance in the World Championship series in Hamburg, losing 41 seconds to the French winner Cassandre Beaugrand after 750 m swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running.
The best Swiss was Sylvain Fridelance, who did not qualify for the Olympic Games, in 21st place, while Max Studer finished in 24th place. Australian Matthew Hauser secured victory in the men's race.
