Swiss professional golfer Albane Valenzuela achieves an honorable draw in the final round of the Solheim Cup, but cannot prevent Team Europe from losing to the USA.
For the first time since 2017, the Americans won the match between the continents, the female equivalent of the men's Ryder Cup. Lilia Vu won the last half point for the USA against Albane Valenzuela from Geneva at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia.
The Swiss player, who was called up for the Solheim Cup for the first time, didn't need much to at least extend the duel a little longer. Vu saved the tie with two birdies on the last two holes. This gave the Americans an unassailable 14.5:11.5 lead.
Valenzuela was the first Swiss woman ever to be called up thanks to her strong performances this year.
