Stan Wawrinka can be satisfied. He will face Britain's Charles Broom in the first round of Wimbledon. Dominic Stricker will be up against Arthur Fils, Viktorija Golubic against Jule Niemeier.

British player Charles Broom is already 26 years old, number 245 in the world rankings and will be making his debut at Grand Slam level at Wimbledon thanks to a wild card. If he were to win, Wawrinka (ATP 93) would face a Frenchman, the indestructible Gaël Monfils or the number 22 seed Adrian Mannarino.

Dominic Stricker (ATP 151), who benefits from a protected ranking, can also hope to advance to the 2nd round as he did last year. Although he is not the favorite against the Frenchman Arthur Fils (ATP 34), who is still a year younger at 20, his game is more suited to grass. In the 2nd round, a great caliber would then be waiting with the number 7 seed Hubert Hurkacz.

Novak Djokovic will try to equal the record winner Roger Federer with his eighth Wimbledon title, after it was long unclear whether he would be fit again so soon after his knee operation. His designated semi-final opponent would be Alexander Zverev, while in the top half of the table there could be a giant duel between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, just like at the French Open.

The only Swiss woman in the main draw, Viktorija Golubic (WTA 69), has a lot to play for. She will face the German Jule Niemeier, ranked 27 places lower, in the first round. The two have never played each other, Niemeier reached the quarter-finals in 2022, as did Golubic a year earlier. Her opponent in the 2nd round would be the number 21 seed Jelina Switolina or Magda Linette.
