Stan Wawrinka is the last Swiss player to be eliminated in the 2nd round of the Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon. The Vaud native lost 6:7 (5:7), 4:6, 6:7 (3:7) to Frenchman Gaël Monfils.
The often high-class match between Wawrinka and his good friend and neighbor had to be abandoned on Wednesday evening at 5:5 in the third set due to darkness. The continuation then lasted just under a quarter of an hour.
