Christian Wohlwend is no longer coach of HC Ajoie. After a disastrous start to the season in the National League, in which the team from the canton of Grisons managed just one win in 13 games, the Grisons native has to go.
Wohlwend took over Ajoie at the beginning of last season, after the Jura team had performed haplessly under Czech Filip Pesan following their promotion to Switzerland's top division and sports director Julien Vauclair had led the team on an interim basis.
Now Vauclair is stepping in again as interim coach after the team failed to get away from the bottom of the table under the former HCD coach. Last season, Ajoie finished last with 39 points in qualifying.
As the club wrote in its press release on Monday, its aim is to be better than last season. With just four points from 13 games, the club's management believes this goal is in jeopardy.
