The Swiss triathlon team wins World Championship silver in the mixed relay in Hamburg. Max Studer, Julie Derron, Simon Westermann and Cathia Schär were beaten only by Germany.
The Swiss quartet stayed in the top group for the entire race in partly pouring rain. On the home straight, Schär distanced New Zealand's Nicole Van Der Kaay by three seconds. The German Annika Koch crossed the finish line eight seconds ahead of the Swiss athlete. The race consisted of 400 m swimming, 12 km cycling and 2.8 km running.
A year ago, Switzerland also won a medal in third place. Derron, Schär and Studer will represent their country at the Olympic Games in Paris.
