Swiss Rolling Stones fans were hoping for an alternative date after the concert at the Wankdorf Stadium was canceled due to the coronavirus. However, as the organizer has now confirmed, their hopes were in vain.
Swiss audiences will not be able to enjoy Mick Jagger's dance moves any time soon. The concert at the Wankdorf Stadium, which was canceled last Friday, June 27, will not be rescheduled.
"We regret to announce that despite our best efforts, the show in Bern cannot be rescheduled and has been canceled," the band wrote on Twitter.
"The Stones concert organizers have worked extremely hard all week and tried everything to find an alternative date or stadium, but unfortunately it was not possible. The band would like to apologize to all their Swiss fans who bought tickets and they are deeply saddened that they will not be able to play in Bern during this tour."
"Thank you for your patience and understanding"
Mick Jagger announced on June 13 that he had contracted coronavirus. As a result, the Rolling Stones had to postpone their concert in Amsterdam and Bern.
"We plan to reschedule as soon as possible," Jagger wrote in a message on social media. "Thank you for your patience and understanding." This is not going to happen any time soon.
From tomorrow, tickets already purchased for the canceled show in Bern can be returned to the respective advance booking offices. The money will be refunded. This is still possible until July 17.
But at least Jagger's health is said to be better now. He recently gave his fans a health update: "I'm feeling much better and I'm looking forward to being back on stage next week." The band will play the next concert on the tour on Tuesday, June 21, in Milan.
"Mick is doing great and the show will go ahead as planned," say the Rolling Stones on their Twitter profile.
