  • The 57th Montreux Jazz Festival will take place from June 30 to July 15, 2023.
  • Bob Dylan, Norah Jones, Iggy Pop, Lil Nas X, Sam Smith and Simply Red are the stars of this year's festival on Lake Geneva.
  • South American sounds will be provided by Gilberto Gil and singer-songwriter Maluma from Colombia.

One thing can be revealed in advance: The organizers of the 57th Montreux Jazz Festival will once again manage to attract many world-famous musicians this year.

Or to put it in figures: the artists who will be performing on the shores of Lake Geneva from June 30 to July 15, 2023 have won no fewer than 95 Grammys in the last few decades.

In addition to numerous music legends performing at the Auditorium Stravinski in the Montreux Convention Center, numerous contemporary greats will also be paying their respects this summer.

From Bob Dylan to Maluma and Norah Jones

But first things first: Simply Red will kick off the 57th Montreux Jazz Festival on June 30.

One day later, Bob Dylan will take to the stage. However, according to festival director Mathieu Jaton, the number of visitors will be limited to 1500 people.

In the days that follow, Auditorium Stravinski will continue to host one star after another:

Chris Isaak (with Swiss singer Bastian Baker as support act), Lionel Richie, Lil Nas X, Sam Smith, Iggy Pop, Gilberto Gil, Norah Jones, Seal and and and ...

... And no, that's not all: Gilberto Gil and the singer-songwriter Maluma from Colombia will be providing South American sounds. Gil will be performing in Montreux for the 15th time as part of his farewell tour.

Blues legend Mavis Staples celebrates her birthday in Montreux

Another highlight announced by festival director Jaton is Oscar and five-time Grammy award winner Jon Batiste. Batiste first performed in Montreux ten years ago, back then in the small hall.

Blues and soul legend Mavis Staples will be celebrating her 84th birthday in Montreux. Staples will be performing together with her colleague Norah Jones, who is 40 years her junior. She is one of the few women to be granted a performance at the Auditorium Stravinski in the Montreux Congress Center this year.

The second stage in Montreux, the Lab, has been offering young artists a platform for ten years. This year, Ava Max, an American pop star with Albanian roots, and Nigerian rapper Rema are among those scheduled to perform there.

Christine and the Queens, rapper Zola from France and US singer-songwriter Caroline Polachek have also been booked to perform at the Lab.
