Ritschi has been on the road as a musician for 22 years. The Bernese musician recently released his fifth solo album. Now he talks about a possible comeback for his band Plüsch.

"Life as a musician is tough," says Andreas Ritschard, alias "Ritschi". Nevertheless, the 44-year-old looks back positively on his career to date.

The singer from the Bernese Oberland, who once made it big with the dialect band Plüsch and the song "Heimweh", released his fifth solo album at the end of February. "Irgendöppis isch immer" is the name of the record.

"I've been supporting my family with my solo project for 13 years", says Ritschi in Maximilian Baumann 's podcast "Parlez-vous PLÜ". The singer has been together with his wife Andrea, with whom he has a daughter and a son, for 26 years.

"I want to be a musician"

With his four colleagues from the dialect band Plüsch, Ritschi celebrated one major musical success after another for over ten years. Nevertheless, the band broke up in 2013. "At some point, every band simply has arguments," says Ritschi.

It was no different with Plüsch. In the beginning, they all just wanted to make music. After a few years, however, the lives of the five band members developed in different directions.

"We didn't choose our careers as pop stars ourselves," Ritschi continues. It just happened that way. But at some point, it no longer worked for everyone. And so there were more and more discussions within the band.

For Ritschi, however, it was always clear: "I want to be a musician." But it was also clear: plush is plush. For Ritschi, it was therefore only logical that he didn't want to continue with a different band line-up - and so the singer has been going solo ever since.

"It was really good"

But then Ritschi has a big surprise in store for all Plush fans. Two years ago, he met up again with his former band members.

They made music together for an evening. "It went really well," says Ritchi. "And it sounded really cool." So will there be a big Plush comeback soon?

Probably not, says the singer. However, it seems possible that Plüsch will one day return to the stage for a few concerts with the original line-up. "We want to play a few gigs together again."

Exactly when that will be is still unclear. And anyway: Ritschi is first going on tour with his new record.
