Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin was discharged from hospital on Tuesday after breaking his arm on Friday. The Minister of Economic Affairs and Education will be able to attend the Federal Council meeting on Wednesday.

This was announced by the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER). Over the past few days, 64-year-old Parmelin has carried out his duties from his hospital bed as far as possible.

On Friday, Parmelin broke his right upper arm in a fall in his office. He was taken to the Inselspital in Bern and operated on immediately. He had to stay in hospital for a few days, it was reported at the time.
