The 25-year-old Julien Bonvin from Sierre in the canton of Valais was unable to demonstrate his full ability in the 400 m hurdles preliminaries. In 49.82 seconds, Bonvin finished 6th in the 3rd series, which may be a good thing, as six opponents have already run faster than Bonvin this season. On the other hand, the Swiss athlete missed his best time by 1.23 seconds. Bonvin already disappointed at the European Championships in Rome in the preliminary heat with a time of 49.95 seconds. In Paris, he can hope to progress via the hope heat on Tuesday afternoon.
